All external job applicants and internal Amarr Team Members must satisfy the criminal background requirements in order to gain and retain employment with Amarr. All Amarr Team Members are responsible for reporting any activity that may compromise these requirements. Amarr reserves the right to access criminal background information (with consent) based on reasonable suspicion. Refusal to submit to a criminal background check may result in corrective action up to and including termination.

A job applicant or Amarr Team Member will be disqualified from employment based on the following felony convictions within the past seven (7) years:
  • • Murder
  • • Assault/Battery
  • • Robbery/theft (includes identity theft)
  • • Sexually related offenses
  • • Criminal harassment (Communicating threats, stalking)


If the candidate was previously incarcerated for a violent convicted offense, the date of hire must be at least one (1) year from release date. Previously stated felony convictions still apply.


Three or more misdemeanor convictions within the past 18 months.
  • • Any of the above listed convictions in the past 18 months automatically disqualify an individual.

These are the minimum requirements for employment at Amarr. Criminal background employment standards may vary in accordance with state and federal requirements.

The company may review a candidate’s eligibility for employment on a case-by-case basis.
Any position that requires driving an Amarr vehicle may include additional DOT mandated requirements that could preclude a Team Members qualification for employment.


  • General
  • • Be at least 21 years old or older.
  • • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • • Must have 1 year minimum experience driving Non-commercial motor vehicles.

Motor Vehicle Record

  • Tickets
  • • No more than two tickets for moving violations or driving without proof of insurance in the past 12 months.
  • • No more than four tickets for moving violations or driving without proof of insurance in the past 36 months.
  • • No DWI’s or DUI’s within the last 5 years in a personal or commercial vehicle.
  • • In the past three years, cannot have a ticket for:
    • Operating a motor vehicle without permission of the owner.
    • Fleeing or eluding a police officer.

  • Accidents
  • • No careless or reckless driving resulting in an accident in past 5 years.
  • • No severe accidents in a personal or commercial vehicle ever, to include:
    • U-turn on highway or backing across a roadway.
    • Rear-end at road speed.
    • Falling asleep.
    • Rollover or hitting a moving vehicle due to loss of control.

  • Suspensions/Revocations
  • • No license suspensions in the past 3 years. Not to include suspensions for unpaid tickets, child support, or proof of financial responsibility.
  • • No more than two suspensions in a 7 year period.
  • • No convictions in past 3 years of driving with a suspended or revoked license.
  • • No convictions in the last 6 months for driving with an expired or non-valid license.
  • • No more than two convictions in the past 7 years for driving with a suspended or revoked license. (This includes when license is suspended for unpaid tickets, failure to appear, or proof of financial responsibility.)

  • Reckless/Careless Driving
  • • No convictions for careless (of a higher degree) or reckless driving in the past 5 years in a personal vehicle or a commercial vehicle.
  • • No convictions in the past 5 years in a personal vehicle or never in a commercial vehicle for:
    • Leaving the scene of an accident.
    • Reckless homicide or involuntary manslaughter.
    • Speed exhibition, contest or drag race.
    • Assault with a motor vehicle.
    • Careless driving resulting in an accident.

Note: More detailed information may need to be provided for accidents that are inconclusive on their motor vehicle records and/or criminal background checks.

Controlled substance (alcohol/drug) related offenses

  • • No convictions in the past 5 years in a personal vehicle or commercial vehicle.

Physical Requirements

  • • Must pass a DOT and Company physical and drug screen (free of charge at our approved medical clinics).
  • • Must be capable of performing all essential job functions including: heavy lifting, bending and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • • Must meet or surpass all minimum DOT requirements for blood pressure, blood sugar levels, eyesight, hearing and all other physical criteria.
