What drive types are available?

How does Vacation Mode improve my home’s security?

When activated, Vacation Mode temporarily disables all remote access to your Kwikset FLEX garage door opener. Your garage door cannot be opened via the mobile app or other remote devices, so no one can access your garage while you're away. After returning home, simply reactivate via the Kwikset app. 

What's the difference between the Kwikset FLEX 800 and 1000B models?

  • Kwikset FLEX 800 base model offers smart features like mobile app control, plus quiet operation and energy-efficient LED lighting. 
  • Kwikset FLEX 1000B includes all FLEX 800 features, plus brighter LED lighting, a more powerful motor, and a rechargeable battery backup to ensure uninterrupted functionality.

Do I need a smart home hub to use the Kwikset FLEX openers?

Yes.  Kwikset FLEX openers are fully integrated with in-car systems like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and HomeLink, so you can control your garage door directly from your vehicle's interface. 

Is the Kwikset FLEX opener compatible with Amazon Key delivery?

Not at this time. 

Will my Kwikset FLEX opener still work during a power outage?

Yes, if you install the Kwikset FLEX 1000B model which incudes a rechargeable battery backup.  Your garage door opener will continue to work during a power outage, so you can open and close your garage door as usual.  The 800 model can be upgraded with an optional battery backup. 

Do I have to recharge the battery backup?

No, the 24V NiMH battery automatically recharges when the opener has power. 

Is my data secure in the Kwikset app?

Yes.  All Kwikset FLEX app connections are protected with advanced encryption and secure authentication. 

Can I install my Kwikset FLEX garage door opener myself?

Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper setup, safety, and long-term reliability.
